To design a packaging system that enhances Benchmade’s premium positioning, reduces SKU complexity, and strengthens visual and tactile consistency across their product lines.
The design development evolved through multiple rounds of ideation and refinement. The new packaging architecture introduced a rigid board base with a sliding sleeve format, creating a simple yet elevated unboxing moment. A tactile paper wrap, subtle branding, and precision-cut inserts reflected the brand’s focus on craftsmanship and performance.
The creative direction was guided by the idea of Subtle Quality — timeless appeal through minimalist design, precision detailing, and universal applicability. The visual language reflected Benchmade’s ethos of authenticity and excellence, translated through form and texture.
Each structure was engineered for repeatable quality and reduced material waste. Modular inserts, recyclable board components, and a rationalised sizing system allowed for flexible adaptation across product categories. Attention was given to durability, storage, and assembly, ensuring consistency from production to retail display.
